As a Financial Professional, Dylan is the Servicing Advisor and main point of contact for many clients at Decker Financial. Most of his time is spent working directly with clients – checking in by phone, meeting with them virtually or in-person, or implementing and monitoring financial plans. His friendly, easy-going manner quickly puts clients at ease. He likes to hear the stories that clients tell and works to tailor advice to suit each individual’s unique personality and situation.
Fourteen years of experience playing competitive soccer have refined Dylan’s teamwork skills as well as his adaptability. He says, “Being able to adapt to the twists and turns of life and getting along with others are two things that define me as a person.”
Dylan is a problem solver, always ready to help handle issues for clients, whether that means making calls and digging in to find answers or providing a specialized analysis of retirement or risk profile data. He follows through and works hard to track down an effective solution.
One area of specialty for Dylan is working with school district clients. He is very well-versed in the PERS and STRS pension plans, as well as coordinating benefits with Social Security and 403(b) plans. School district employees have big decisions to make regarding retirement, and Dylan helps prepare them with the knowledge they need so that they understand their choices and recommendations and the reasons behind those recommendations. Both his mom and wife are teachers, and he takes great pride in working directly with this segment of clients at Decker Financial.
College courses drew Dylan to the financial industry and in 2017 he began his career in financial services, working with Laura Decker. He graduated from San Diego State with a BS in Finance and holds Series 6, 63, 7, and 65 registrations as well as a Life & Health Insurance license in California.
Dylan grew up in Hawaii, on the island of Kauai, where he spent much of his time in the water. Now settled in San Diego, he enjoys spending time at the beach with his wife, Corrin, and their BullPug Bandit. He loves the beauty of the San Diego area and turns to surfing for exercise, connecting with nature, and just plain fun.
